Kathmandu- Former parliamentarian Resham Chaudhary has said that he is also suffering like the families of those killed in the Tikapur incident.

Although the Supreme Court upheld the sentence of life imprisonment in the Tikapur case, Resham, who was freed after receiving amnesty on the recommendation of the government, said, ‘The pain is also felt by Resham who wears 21 kg nails.’

Full text of Resham Chaudhary’s statement after his release from prison:

Regarding the Tikapur incident, experts who know the definition of law will explain. However, keeping an innocent person rotting in prison for years is a complete introduction to the legal definition or not? That too should be asked to learned friends. Just yesterday, the honorable court released our friend Santaram Chaudhary after spending seven and a half years in jail. He went to the market to buy meat. He was caught. And jailed.

Many friends were selling vegetables in the market. Someone was driving a rickshaw. Some were taking the injured in their own rickshaws for treatment. It is a sad matter to judge this unfortunate incident based on what someone said. Even now, I say that a high-level investigation committee should be formed on the ground. The Tikapur incident was not done in a closed room.Thousands of people have witnessed the Tikapur incident. Who killed whom? Who speared whom? Who splashed whom? Local witnesses and eyewitnesses will say that.

I thank the government for releasing me. The government did what the government did. The court did what a respected court should do. However, I will answer your question, the story of the Tikapur incident was different. The screenplay was written differently. And the film turned out to be different.

This time the story should be made public. However, there are some inner parts whose inner parts are not shown. For example, when the Tikapur incident was happening, I have about 300 photos of those who set fire to my house, those who burned my FM, those who blew smoke in my resort, those who burned my lattakpada, antiques.

Among them, I know about 100 people. Should I now go to their house and return my stuff, or I will do anything? This is no longer the case. We are people’s representatives. It is our responsibility to solve the problems of local citizens. However, the story should be drawn as told here. A film should be made. Even if it is a little, the audience must be given a sense of it.

The victims of the incident must be in pain. For three years when Resham Choudhary was driving a tempo in the Indian market, carrying a box of liquor on his bare head, and becoming a hostel warden, I must have suffered too. Even the 21 kg nail attached to my leg when I went to get treatment in Jela would say, Resham, you must have been in pain. They also have pain. We also suffer. Thousands of girls are suffering. How many people have noticed about the Tikapur incident?Hundreds of girls have been subjected to violence. 70/80 year old parents have been beaten. Hundreds of houses have been set on fire. Thousands of properties have been looted. During the investigation of this incident, the victims of both sides must have felt that they have been punished.

Civil Liberation Party and Tharuhat Movement have paid emotional tributes to the martyrs who received Shahadat. They should get justice. There should be interaction between them and us. They are seeing us as guilty. We are saying that whoever is guilty should not be punished. Whoever was guilty became a minister. He who was guilty was given a gift by the state. Awarded. Do not let such an unfortunate incident happen. They are pleading for justice. Aren’t they knocking on the door of the house of the tormentors somewhere? This is a serious matter.

The Red Commission report should be made public. We accepted the judgment of the honorable court and lived in jail. Will the government accept the decision made by the honorable court or not? What is the secret? which cannot be made public. Why is the Red Commission report not made public? Is there a mysterious event? The report of the commission must be made public. That is the part of the judgment of immunity.
