Kathmandu: The government has started the process of repatriating the dead bodies of Nepalese from Israel.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Nepal confirmed the death of 10 Nepalese till now. According to the latest information from the Embassy of Nepal Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, 10 Nepalese died, one was contactless and a few were injured in the Hamas attack on Israel. The identification of the dead bodies is in the last stage.
The Ministry mentioned in the Press Release that arrangements were being made to identify the dead bodies and send them to Nepal as soon as possible. The Embassy is coordinating with the Government of Israel to rescue the injured Nepalese population and provide them with the necessary treatment.
The Embassy and the Government of Israel have also made arrangements for the interested Nepalese population to return to Nepal by registering their names through an online form. One can also contact the Embassy through the email:rescue@mofa.gov.np. The airport in Tel Aviv is operating normally.
A committee has been formed under the coordination of Minister of Foreign Affairs NP Saud. The committee has been operating to rescue and protect the Nepalese in Israel. The Ministry has been providing the required instructions to the Embassy and maintaining institutional coordination. The government claimed to be fully committed to rescuing Nepalese from the crisis area.
The government had instructed the embassy to remain in touch for further details and assistance. The Ministry has requested the Nepalese to contact the Embassy and get the required support.
