KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has also taken a statement from former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
His statement was taken by the CIB on Sunday night in the Lalita Niwas land case.
Last night, the CIB also took a statement from another former Prime Minister, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.
CIB spokesperson Nawaraj Adhikari said that the investigation report will probably be submitted to the public prosecutor’s office today.
He said that the report was to be submitted on Sunday, but it was not possible due to technical reasons.
On Shrawan 21 (Aug 6), the Supreme Court ordered an investigation on those involved at the level of verifying the decisions and actions of the Council of Ministers, as the government was being criticized for trying to acquit Madhav Nepal and Dr Baburam Bhattarai after not taking a statement.
