Tension ran high at Naya Kiran Secondary School Polling Station at Bhojad in Chitwan Constituency-2.
The tension flared after the supporters of electoral candidate of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane shouted slogans at the polling station in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11, Bhojad.
No sooner had Lamichhane reached the polling station, than his supporters started shouting slogans in favor him. The supporters of the other parties protested the sloganeering.
Police have detained the supporters of Lamichhane and now the situation is under control.
Voters and supporters ran in panic from the police station after the police baton-charged the protestors.
Meanwhile, a team of Nepali Army has been deployed outside the polling station to preempt any untoward situation.
