Kathmandu. Actor Paul Shah has been released from jail. Pokhara High Court on Sunday acquitted Shah, who was accused of rape.
He was released on Monday according to the court’s order to release him from prison. After being accused of rape, Paul went to the District Police Office Tanahun on February 27 last year (today) and surrendered. A crowd of supporters gathered outside Tanahun prison to welcome Paul.
Earlier, the Nawalpur District Court convicted Shah of child sexual abuse and sentenced him to 2 and a half years in prison.
Although the charge of rape was registered, Nawalpur District Court found him guilty of child sexual abuse. Tanahun district court found Shah innocent. The same person filed a rape complaint against Shah in two districts.
Zaherwala, who filed a rape complaint with the police, told the court that the complaint was false.
