KATHMANDU: Standup comedian Apoorwa Khsitiz Singh, who was arrested on the charge of making derogatory comments against the Newar community, has been released on bail on Thursday.
He has been released this evening after posting a bail of Rs 250,000.
The Kathmandu District Court had ordered the release of Singh on bail of Rs 250,000 after the bail hearing today.
Earlier on August 28, Comedian Singh was arrested after multiple complaints were filed against him for making derogatory remarks about the culture and tradition of the Newar community during his standup comedy show.
