KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 18 ‘gamblers’ from a resort in Kathmandu. 18 people were arrested from Dahachowk City View Resort Pvt Ltd operated by Udayaraj Puri near Swissland Park, Nagarjun Municipality-7 last night. Dineshraj Mainali, SP of District Police Circle, Kathmandu, informed that they were arrested on the charge of gambling. Police also recovered 3 lakh 82 thousand 595 rupees from them. KATHMANDU: Security has been beefed up in Kathmandu Valley, the federal capital, in view of the Deepawali, Nepal Sambat and Chhath festivals, said the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) exported electricity to India even during the evening peak hour of Laxmi Puja on Monday. NEA said 380 megawatts of excess electricity was sold in the Indian market during the peak hour on Monday evening. The highest electricity demand in Nepal was at 6:10 PM during Laxmi Puja during which 1,305 MW of electricity was consumed.
